All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) urged the authorities of Manipur University and Dhanamanjuri University to lessen the financial burden of the students in view of the raging COVID-19 pandemic, while urging the state government to provide the pending scholarships to the students.

AMSU, in a release, argued that even though the amount for form submission for the two universities might be a small amount to some, but for others it is a huge burden, especially for students coming from families surviving as day wage earners. While issuing notices for examination form submission by the authorities of MU and DMU, it should reflect the present situation of the state, it added.

The student body also raised the issue of the results of the undergraduate students of the two universities, while urging the authorities to announce the result at the earliest.

Induced by the prevailing situations due to COVID-19 pandemic, the number of students applying in the colleges of the state might increase, AMSU argued, and urged the two universities to increase the intake capacity of the colleges under them.
