Daily COVID-19 cases in Manipur declined below 500 on Thursday, as the state confirmed that 495 individuals were infected by the deadly virus out of 5,884 tests. The daily positivity rate stands at 8.41 per cent.
COVID fatality continues to be a major concern for the state. In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 13 COVID-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 1,021. Six persons from Imphal East, two each from Imphal West and Kangpokpi, and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching and Ukhrul. They died at RIMS (3), JNIMS (4), Shija Hospital (4), Raj Medicity (1) and DH Ukhrul (1), according to the Health Department.
The positive cases from general population are — 143 persons from Imphal West, 106 Imphal East, 54 from Churachandpur, 48 from Bishnupur, 45 from Thoubal, 29 from Tamenglong, 19 from Ukhrul, 18 from Kakching, 10 from Tengnoupal, seven from Pherzawl, six from Kangpokpi, four from Chandel, and three from Senapati.

On Thursday, 458 persons were discharged, out of which 376 are from home isolation, six from RIMS (5) and JNIMS (1) and the rest 76 are from other COVID care facilities. The recovery rate is 83.76 per cent.
The total number of infections in the state has reached 62,343.
Oxygen Status
As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1856 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 432 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur. 187D and 56B filled cylinders were also made available to CCCs.
