In a powerful show of public dissent, more than 1,000 protestors under the banner of the Amarpur Sub-Division Conscious Citizens’ Forum rallied in Amarpur, Gomati District on Tuesday, demanding immediate action against the alleged infiltration and activities of the Bangladeshi armed group Parbattyo Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) led by Santu Larma.
The protestors submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha through the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, calling for the ouster of PCJSS (Santu) operatives and the dismantling of their camps within Tripura.

The memorandum highlighted serious concerns over illegal immigration from Bangladesh, stating that PCJSS (Santu) has been orchestrating organized infiltration into Tripura. Protestors claimed that:
- Overground leaders and cadres from Bangladesh have settled in Tripura.
- Armed PCJSS members have established camps along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
- On June 3, 2025, 13 PCJSS members were arrested in Hapania, Agartala, while receiving treatment for injuries sustained during illegal entry.
Further accusations include the group’s involvement in:
- Drug trafficking and smuggling of Burmese cigarettes
- Cattle trafficking and arms smuggling
- Receiving financial and political backing from Pakistan’s ISI and elements in Bangladesh
The protestors alleged that PCJSS (Santu) cadres have set up armed camps in several locations, including:
- Narayanpur/Mog Para, Lakkhidar Para, Korollyachari, Kamalakha (Gandachara Sub-Division)
- Midhingechari (Kanchanpur Sub-Division)
- Sushenpara/Baghechara (Amarpur Division)
- Nandan Nagar and Nagicherra (Agartala city)
Indian citizens living near the border reportedly face extortion and intimidation, with PCJSS cadres demanding “taxes” and obstructing local activities. Protestors also claimed that threats extend beyond border areas, with Indian agents allegedly aiding the group inside Tripura.
The memorandum urged the Chief Minister to:
- Secure Tripura’s borders
- Arrest and deport all PCJSS (Santu) operatives
- Destroy all armed camps established by the group
The protest marks a growing concern among Tripura’s citizens over cross-border security and the presence of foreign armed groups within Indian territory.
