DDCC takes out rally against offensive remarks on Rahul

Dimapur District Congress Committee (DDCC) on Saturday came out to the street against offensive remarks towards Rahul Gandhi by the BJP and its allies recently.

At a press conference held at the Congress Bhavan, Dimapur, the media persons were briefed on the controversial statement made by BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah on September 11 warning Rahul Gandhi to behave or meet the same fate as her grandmother.

Also the Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu called Rahul Gandhi the “number one terrorist of the country”.

In another case, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad announced a bounty of Rs 11 lakhs for anyone who will cut the tongue of the Leader of the Opposition. They also referred to UP Minister Raghuraj Singh’s remarks that Rahul was the ‘number one terrorist of India’.

DDCC president, Kutoho Chishi, said that Rahul Gandhi should not be treated in such a manner but rather be respected.

Chishi shared that the blame has to be directed to the central government for ignoring and neglecting the issues of the Nagas while also terming that the threat made against Rahul Gandhi was unacceptable at the same time disclosed that further step of protest is planned according to the directives of the party leaders at the centre.

Rajesh Kumar Sethi Jain, the national coordinator of INC minority cell, claimed that the BJP is targeting Rahul Gandhi because they felt threatened by him. He called for a high-level investigation into the threats and remarks made against his party leader.

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) also staged a protest demonstration at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, in response to the inflammatory rhetoric directed against the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, by the ruling NDA government. The protest, held in solidarity with the nationwide agitation called by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), drew a strong gathering of party members and supporters.

NPCC working president Khriedi Theunuo addressed the crowd, emphasizing that “Democracy needs a democratic response,” in the face of leaders spreading violence and hatred across the country.

He further asserted that as long as such divisive attitudes persist, the Congress will not rest or tolerate such actions. Theunuo urged the authorities to take immediate steps to curb these inflammatory actions.

Further, the NPCC extended its heartfelt gratitude to all Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office bearers, including Secretaries, Frontals, Cells, and departments, as well as District Congress Committee (DCC) officials and members, for their active participation and commitment to the cause during the protest.
