Sonowal kicks off ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign from Dibrugarh

More than 500 Safai Karmacharis attended the programme where Sonowal also interacted with them and assured that his government would take all necessary actions to be taken for the Dibrugarh LSC. He also inaugurated “Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir” at the historic Chowkidingee field for the benefit of the Safai Karmacharis working under the various municipal bodies of Dibrugarh, Chabua, Tinsukia, Margherita, Digboi, Makum, Naharkatia, and Namrup.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday inaugurated ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign from Dibrugarh, Assam, which was also termed as “People’s participation has turned Swacha Bharat Mission into a People’s Movement”.

Sarbananda Sonowal participated in “Swachhata Mein Jan Bhagidari” programme within the Civil Hospital premises where he also inaugurated “Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir” in Chowkidingee which aimed to secure and enable the Safai Karmis with social security via Government Welfare schemes.

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowa, took an active part in the programmes organised under ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ campaign of the government while also participating in the cleanliness drive under the ‘Swachhata Mein Jan Bhagidari,’ held at the Civil Hospital of the city, to encourage Safai Karmacharis, the government employees and people in general to engage in regular cleanliness.

Sonowal said that “Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan” is the most significant and popular movement which has been successfully going on under the visionary leadership of Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, and the movement has been embraced by everyone in this country towards building a stronger and cleaner India.

Inspired by Mahatma Gandhiji’s examples, Narendra Modi launched the campaign a decade ago which is still going strong with a resounding response from the common people.
