Nagaland ULB elections: Toli S Achumi to contest from Dimapur MC Ward-10

Toli said she has a vision of improving infrastructural and public services which have been lacking for many years while also committed to promoting economic development while also enhancing community engagement, and exclusivity towards ensuring transparency and accountability and women empowerment.

Toli S Achumi, who is all prepared to contest the Urban Local Body (ULB) elections due on June 26 has minted her voice that she will be in the fray to voice the people’s grievances especially those marginalised.

In a declaration-cum-dedication programme held at Assisi School, Khermahal, Dimapur, Tuesday evening, Toli said she has a vision of improving infrastructural and public services which have been lacking for many years while also committed to promoting economic development while also enhancing community engagement, and exclusivity towards ensuring transparency and accountability and women empowerment.

With her say of “leading the way for urban transformation”, Toli said she is honoured to serve the community and if elected into the municipals, she while working towards her commitments towards transparency and accountability, would also lend her hand in the community services which she has been involved along with the residents of her ward.

A candidate of the National People’s Party (NPP) enjoying the 33 percent women reservation, she might also face tough competition from other aspirants as there are other candidates from different political parties vying for the seat of Ward No -10 comprising five colonies.

A profound personality involved in social services who is trying to represent the people and other marginalized communities through her community services, she aimed to bring about a positive change within the community including the Nagas, and ensure that all voices of the residents of the ward are being heard.

Chaired by Bethel Shohe, the invocation prayer was led by Love of Christ Ministry, Pastor Wapang, NPP general secretary, Nagaland state, Hiketo Shohe, delivered the welcome address, while a prayer of blessing to the candidate was proposed by Rev S Vitoshe Swu.

Others who also spoke included former parliamentary secretary, Shetoyi, NPP working Mahila president, Yesufi  Snock, NPP MLA Benei M Lamthui, state president NPP and MLA  A Nyamnyei Konyak, and other leaders representing Lake view colony council, Island colony council, Neisatuo colony council, and Khermahal colony council.

Earlier, Vimugha P Assumi enthralled the audience with a song titled “One Day”, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Puloto Chishi.
