Kikon said the BJP is a pro-development party and has its concern right at the Centre’s interests by putting the Nation first above family and others which has been “exhibited and demonstrated” since Modi’s tenure as the prime minister of India.

Even though the BJP in Nagaland is not fielding its candidate and instead backing NDPP candidate Dr Chumben Murry as PDA’s consensus candidate for the 18th Lok Sabha election, the Congress has been attacking the party in many press conferences and rallies held recently.
This was stated during a press conference called by the BJP Nagaland state at its office in Dimapur on Wednesday.
To clear certain issues to the people of Nagaland before the state goes to the 18th Lok Sabha poll on April 19, BJP National Spokesperson, former minister, and in-charge of Mizoram, Mhhonlumo Kikon, accused the Congress party of neglecting the interests of the Nagas.
Kikon said the BJP is a pro-development party and has its concern right at the Centre’s interests by putting the Nation first above family and others which has been “exhibited and demonstrated” since Modi’s tenure as the prime minister of India.
He said as the state goes to poll on April 19 for the lone Lok Sabha seat, the party has already issued its manifesto.
To take back the Naga people to the history where they witnessed the Congress rule in the country beginning with Nehru, whose visit to Nagaland in 1953 along with the then prime minister of Burma now Myanmar where a Naga delegation wanted to meet him to submit a memorandum, but they were not allowed so the delegation left with anger.
Kikon said the question was right from the beginning, the Congress has not been interested in the history of the Naga people and its issue.
“We have a long list of the Congress neglecting not only the northeastern region but the Naga people as well and I say this because the Congress always talks they have interest for Naga people which is not”, he maintained
Further, Kikon urged support for the consensus candidate of the PDA emphasizing the importance of having a representative who could effectively voice out the state’s concerns in the parliament.
