There are 865 Self Help Group (SHG) under UDWIM and is divided into 5 zones, namely Chirmi SHG Zonal Federation (Northern), Kahor SHG Zonal Federation (Western), Ikrormi SHG Zonal Federation (Eastern), Tuma SHG Zonal Federation (Southern) and Phila SHG Zonal Federation (Central).

The 12th Annual General Assembly of Ukhrul District Women Institute of Micro-credit (UDWIM) was held on Wednesday at the Jubilee Hall of UBC, Khamphasom, Ukhrul.
There are 865 Self Help Group (SHG) under UDWIM and is divided into 5 zones, namely Chirmi SHG Zonal Federation (Northern), Kahor SHG Zonal Federation (Western), Ikrormi SHG Zonal Federation (Eastern), Tuma SHG Zonal Federation (Southern) and Phila SHG Zonal Federation (Central).
Speaking at the occassion, District Project Director, UDCRMS-Ukhrul, Lily Rose Jajo stated, “We are all agents of change. Since we cannot bring change alone, we have formed an SHG to bring changes in our society. The idea of setting up SHG is to bring changes together in our socio-economic condition and living standards and women’s issues. We have to raise our voices and assert our rights in decision-making of society.”
Chairperson of UDWIM, Tychicus Vashum stated, “time have change, I see so many youngsters coming and attending the 12th Annual General Assembly of UDWIM. The old faces I have seen in the past 4/5 years are not present here today. This change is very welcoming and we look forward to a healthy and robust growth of the SHG and UDWIM. It is indeed encouraging to see so many Tangkhul women coming together to discuss and deliberate on the upliftment of socio-economic condition of the community. This platform is a platform of empowerment to you all to steer our society in the right direction. I appeal to all of you to unite and pave the way for a better tomorrow.”
Chairperson of Kahor Zonal Federation, Ningrei Horam stated, “the earth moves where the women moves and we the women need to identify our ability and capability so as to move to the right direction. We have so many laon defaulters. Why are we not able to pay the loan? It is because we did not put our hearts and souls to our work. Let us prioritize and learn to use our time judiciously.”
Tychicus Vashum presented the Best Board of Director award for 2019-22 to Chairperson of Kahor SHG Zonal Federation for their outstanding contribution. The best SHG Zonal Federation award was given to TUMA SHG Zonal Federation.
Around 1000 women from Ukhrul and Kamjong districts attended the 12th UDWIM Annual General Assembly.
