Ukhrul District Congress Committee (UDCC) staged a protest at Viewland, Ukhrul, against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Member of Parliament.
The UDCC has demanded a joint parliamentary committee probe into the allegations of fraud and manipulation made by Hindenburg Research against Adani’s companies.
As part of “Jai Bharat Satyagraha” the protest will intensify to spread the prevailing issue across the district, stated President of UDCC during a press conference held at Ukhrul Headquarters, Manipur on Friday.
President of UDCC, Standhope Kashak, slammed the present regime and stated that “Indian democracy is in danger.”
Rahul Gandhi, representing Wayanad parliamentary constituency in Kerala, was on March 24, 2023 disqualified from the Lok Sabha, a day after his conviction in a defamation case by a court in Surat in Gujarat.
The protest was attended by Congress leaders and workers from 43-Phungyar, 44-Ukhrul and 45-Chingai Assembly Constituencies.
