The Bharatiya Janata Party, Ukhrul District celebrated the successful completion of eight years of service, good governance and welfare for the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at Ukhrul Headquarters on Saturday6.
Ex-MLA BJP Candidate from 43-Phungyar Hopingson A Shimray stated that “Today we are celebrating the successful completion of eight years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has been the leader of the country since 2014.
“In the past eight years, many milestones have been achieved based on the principle of every citizen has a right to get their due share and also focusing on the idea of ‘Ease of living is the right of every citizen’,” he said. “It has been the priority of our government,” he added.
Shimray further said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a true leader who has so much concern for the welfare of the citizen of the country. The PM has so much concern for the minorities that the Government of Manipur is now being formed in coalition with Naga People’s Front (NPF). This is also in consideration that minorities should be included in the administration and governance.”
He claimed that road infrastructure is being developed in Ukhrul and Kamjong Districts. “We have seen much improvement in road infrastructure. Inter-state and inter-districts connectivity of roads has tremendously improved under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi,” he said.
“All this is possible because of the able and visionary leadership backed by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, who has been working really hard to live together at par with the rest of the country. The differences have now been bridged to a large extend, now there is common understanding already established between the hills and plain. We all look forward to the time when the hills and plain people will live together respecting each other’s culture and rights,” he said.
Hopingson A Shimray said, “PM Narendra Modi has taken so much effort in integrating the north east people with the mainstream Indian. In his effort, he has signed peace agreements with various insurgent groups to end decades-old violence including the Framework Agreement of 2015.”
The party also highlighted the various schemes and projects being taken up and implemented by the Modi Government and leaflets on the same were distributed to the populace of Ukhrul District.
The event was attended by Vice President (Adm) V Wungtam Zimik, Secretary, Peacemoon Zimik, Treasurer, Lungreiwon Kaiwungnao, Secretary, Grover Sankhro, President 45-Mandal, Chipem R and other members of BJP Ukhrul District.
