The Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills on Thursday extended support to the Asian Highway Land Affected Villages Chairmen/Chiefs Association (AHLAVCCA)’s 24-hour total shutdown that will begin on Friday morning.
The Asian Highway Land Affected Villages Chairmen/Chiefs Association in collaboration with various student bodies and civil society organisations of Kangpokpi district announced 24 hour total shutdown from 5 am of July 2 till 5 am of July 3 in connection with highway expansion issue.
It had stated that despite of its maximum efforts to resolve the issue on an amicable ways the state Government and other authorities remained adamant towards its peaceful approach compelling it to resort to an extreme form of agitations.
AHLAVCCA had also earlier made its stand clear that unless fresh notification/orders based on the joint survey conducted as per DC Kangpokpi notification on June 3, 2020 is issued or a fresh joint survey is conducted and a fresh notification or orders issued and fair compensation is paid to all the genuine affected victims no other notification or orders will not be entertained and accepted.
It had also alleged that objections had been submitted on time on every occasion when the concerned department called objections in connection with its notifications with respect to land acquisition against the affected victims’ rights and sentiment but it (the objections) had been denied and not entertained by the authority concerned.
Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills considering the lackadaisical attitude of the state government over the highway expansion issue despite of all possible peaceful efforts on the part of AHLAVCCA sense some hidden agenda over the issue and considered necessary to endorse the movement of AHLAVCCA so to prevail justice to all the affected victims, said Seijang, general secretary of Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills.
He said that Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills has been examining and monitoring thoroughly the issue concerning the asian highway expansion within Kangpokpi District while adding that the state the intention of the Government and authority concerned has become questionable.
While conveying its deep concerned over the issue, the Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills rolled lup its sleeve to support and endorse AHLAVCCA in its movement for justice and render all available resource and cooperation during the total shutdown.
It also states that if the government attempt to bulldozed the sentiment of the innocent affected victims and other stakeholders, it will not remain a mute spectator but reiterate to fight tooth and nail for justice.
