Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, education minister S Rajen Singh lauded the spirit of the youth and the upcoming sports persons who have made the state a “powerhouse’ in sports despite the limited resources and small population in comparison to other states of the country.
Stating that without a player from Manipur, a national or international sports team is incomplete, Rajen attributed the sports player of the state for raising the bar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the National Sports University to the state acknowledging this, he added.
The minister also decried the drug smugglers of the state and added such activities would destroy many lives and would render difficulty in establishing peace and harmony in the society.
Minister Rajen also lauded the KSA for organising such sports events during the Yaoshang festival. He opined that organising sports movement in localities would minimise the ill effects associated with the festival.
