Six major student bodies of Manipur drew the attention of the Manipur Government over the Class X examination which was postponed by BOSEM in view of the prevailing situations induced by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The student bodies urged the government to save the career of the students by announcing the mode of examination, if it is going to be conducted, or the basis on which they will be promoted.
The student bodies — AIMS, AMSU, DESAM, KSA, MSF and SUK, in a release on Sunday, stated that for CBSE, Class X students have been promoted by chalking out an appropriate mechanism. It has also been learnt that discussions are going on for the Class XII students as well, it added.
As educational institutions have remained shut for a long time due to COVID-19, the time has come for the state government to discuss the future of these future generations, including that of Class X students, it added.
The release also mentioned that a meeting was convened on May 21 between the six student bodies and private school association to discuss how to conduct Class X examination and if they are going to be promoted, on what basis it will be done.
