TFM Report
Peace and Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) has appealed to begin the construction of District Hospital at Sagolmang, Imphal East from this year since the earlier dispute over the land of the construction site has been settled.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday at the Manipur Press Club, PDCC advisor Nongthombam Tomba said that the foundation stone of the hospital was laid at Sagolmang in 2012 by the then government. But a dispute arose over the land where the hospital was to be constructed, involving the then local MLA. Because of which the construction work couldn’t begin, he added.
However, the dispute was settled in a meeting with the family members of the local MLA at the Imphal East DC office in February 2020. Hence, the process for the construction of the hospital should be initiated from this year, he added.
