Following the demise of the proscribed RPF/PLA president Irengbam Chaoren, ASUK’s member parties, proscribed KYKL and KCP said that they condoled the untimely demise of the revolutionary leader and RPF/PLA’s president Chaoren. ASUK stated that while mourning the passing away of the leader, it also offered revolutionary salute to the RPF leader.
“President Chaoren was not only the president of RPF for over 30 years but also the convenor of CorCom who led from the front for the freedom struggle of Kangleipak and he was a well-known revolutionary leader of WESEA”, said ASUK. The alliance pointed out that his demise is a big loss for the revolutionary movements in WESEA and it will be a difficult task to fill the void created by his death, said ASUK in a press statement.
“In our interaction with Chaoren for about two years when he was the first convenor of CorCom, we felt that he had many traits that could be difficult to emulate. He was a revolutionary leader who treated everyone equal irrespective age or positions with affable relationship besides possessing a serene expression”, said ASUK. ASUK added that he never bragged about being the leader of one of the largest revolutionary groups in the region and was a truly modest leader who rarely expressed his extreme temperaments”.
The alliance said Chaoren was gentle in his speech and the topics of his talks bore abundant meanings with full of logical sense. He knew not only the revolutionary conditions of the WESEA but was also familiar with the global revolutionary situations. “In our generation, Chaoren was a rare shining moonlight that could lit the torch of revolution”, said the statement issued by ASUK’s Convenor of Publicity Committee.
