The student bodies on Wednesday submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kamjong District drawing his attention for necessary action.

“That, the Stage-II of road construction from Kamjong to Chattric Khullen (Part I) under PMGSY (Package No. MNO965) Phase –X, MSRRDA, is underway, and there are reports from public that the works are not conforming to the standard and quality as prescribed in the guidelines” stated the representation jointly signed by RKL president, Yarmatai Chithung and KKL president, Thotngachan Shimray.

“A joint team of Raizan Katamnao Long (RKL) and Kamjong Katamnao Long (KKL) had conducted a spot inspection of certain sections of the 13-km road. That, there are certain anomalies in the ongoing black-topping works, and it has been observed that the recently black-topped road has a sub-standard layer and have been worn out at various spots along the road.

Therefore, we seek your kind and immediate attention into the said work and urge for construction of the road by adhering to the standard guidelines without making any compromises under any conditions,” it said.

Yarmatai Chithung informed that the thin layer of black topping works can be dug out easily. He added that the concerned authority must intervene at the earliest looking at the greater interest of the remote border area.
