PREPAK expresses gratitude to people for honouring martyrs

The proscribed outfit’s Red Army vowed to continue its fight against India for PREPAK’s objective to establish an independent, developed, and socialist society

Different communities and people in Hills and Valley joined hands in observing “Athoubasingi Ningsing Numit” on November 12, said the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) in a statement. People offered floral tributes, and lit candles in their homes in remembrance of martyrs killed fighting for independent Kangleipak, it added.

The statement issued by Mangal Khuman PREPAK’s Publicity Officer, Dept. of Publicity & Propaganda, said the day was observed at the outfit’s Central Head Quarter (CHQ), Red Army’s General Head Quarter (GHQ), 701 Battalion, 707 Battalion, Tactical Head Quarter (THQ), Base Areas, Transit Camp and Training Centre by putting party’s flag at half-mast, observing two-minute silence and offering Revolutionary Gun Salute to the martyrs.

Expressing gratitude to the people for remembering and honouring the martyrs by lighting candles, the outfit’s Red Army vowed to continue its fight against Imperialist India for PREPAK’s objective to establish an independent, developed, and socialist society.

PREPAK has been observing November 12 every year as “Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit” since 1979 after a combined team of CRPF and Manipur police personnel attacked a transit camp of the outfit at Kameng Leimarok on November 12, 1978. In the attack, security forces killed two PREPAK cadres its cadres namely Ayekpam Dhiren alias Angam of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai and Phurailatpam Kabikanta alias Leimu alias Leingam of Sagolband Meino Leirak and one PLA militant Pukhrampbam Gambhir of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.

Further, PREPAK lost its leader RK Tulachandra, alias Loyataba, who was killed by security forces, on November 12, 1985.
