NSCN (I-M) condoles demise of ENPO president C Sashi Naga, Imtimeren Jamir

The collective Leadership (chairman Q Tuccu, vice-chairman Tongmeth Wangnao and general secretary Th Muivah) of the NSCN (I-M) lamented that the Nagas have lost a great public leader whose service as ENPO president was prematurely cut short by the cruel hands of death.

National Socialist Council of Nagalim or the NSCN (I-M) on Monday condoled the demise of ENPO president C Sashi Naga and Imtimeren Jamir. 

The collective Leadership (chairman Q Tuccu, vice-chairman Tongmeth Wangnao and general secretary Th Muivah) of the NSCN (I-M) is deeply saddened at the sudden demise of C Sashi Naga on Monday at Referral Hospital, Dimapur, said a statement issued by Ministry of Information and Publicity of NSCN (I-M).

The collective leadership lamented that the Nagas have lost a great public leader whose service as ENPO president was prematurely cut short by the cruel hands of death. He had taken over as ENPO president not long ago on March 31 2021, it added.   

“The collective leadership on behalf of the Naga nation expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and to his close friends and colleagues in ENPO and prays that the Almighty God provides solace to them. The collective leadership prays for the departed soul of C Sashi Naga to rest in eternal peace,” it added. 

Another condolence message issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity of NSCN (I-M) stated that the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) is grieved by the untimely demise of “Colonel” Imtimeren Jamir, Naga Army no. KL-20568 of the General Headquarters (GHq), Naga Army on May 16, 2021. 

He hailed from Mangmetong village under Ao Region. He enrolled in the Naga national service on April 4, 1988. 

The release further stated that he served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contributions to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of Naga history and his sacrifices for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all, it added. 

The release also informed that the office of the Longvibu, Naga Army has bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of Brigadier on May 17, 2021 in recognition of his service to the Naga nation. 

“GPRN conveys deep condolences to the bereaved family members of (L) “Brigadier” Imtimeren Jamir. May our Lord bless and comfort his family members during this time of grief! We pray for his spirit to rest in eternal peace”.
