On the occasion of the reaffirmation and declaration of the NSCN/GPRN Collective Leadership, General Secretary Th Muivah expressed deep gratitude and unwavering commitment to the cause of Nagalim’s sovereignty. In his Thanksgiving speech, he emphasized the divine guidance in the leadership of the Naga independence movement and reaffirmed that the right of the Nagas to decide their own future is inalienable and non-negotiable.
Quoting scriptures from Psalms and Daniel, Muivah credited God for the leadership reaffirmation, stating that leadership comes by divine will. He paid tribute to past leaders such as AZ Phizo, Imkongmeren, Isak Chishi Swu, and Khadao Yanthan, who laid the foundation of the movement, and remembered the sacrifices of countless Naga freedom fighters and fearless generals like Thinoselie M. Keyho and Capt. Phungtha. He acknowledged the support of international allies in the struggle, including China in the early years, vowing that their contributions would be repaid in victory.
Muivah assured the Naga people that despite past disappointments, the faithfulness of God has sustained their movement. He highlighted key political milestones, including the recognition of Nagalim’s unique history and sovereignty in the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué (2002) and the Framework Agreement (2015) between the NSCN and the Government of India (GoI). He reiterated that the final political settlement must include the sovereign Nagalim national flag, constitution, and territory, emphasizing that these are non-negotiable aspects of the agreement.
He urged the Naga people to remain steadfast in their belief in God’s sovereign purpose for Nagalim, quoting Habakkuk 2:3 to inspire perseverance in their struggle. Concluding his speech, Muivah reaffirmed his dedication to the cause and called upon the Naga people to continue their fight with faith and unity.
