In an attempt to sway people over COVID vaccine hesitancy, MLA Paonam Brojen of Wangjing-Tentha on Sunday announced that Rs 1 lakh will be given as insurance to anyone in the assembly constituency if they die after getting inoculated with the first dose within 14 to 30 days.
Maintaining that efforts are being made to look into the hardships being faced by the people under the assembly segment due to the pandemic, MLA Brojen assured that preparations are being made under the guidance of the chief minister to tackle the third wave.
He also announced that voters in Wangjing-Tentha will be given 10 kg of rice each till Poinu — the harvesting season. Pensions for old age, widow and differently-abled will be handed out soon apart from other welfare works for the benefit of farmers, he added.
