Manipur Covid-19 update: 84 more persons test positive

Air passengers who traveled to Manipur on April 20 by Indigo Flight 6E-524 in rows 5-11 and April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 11-17 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.

On Thursday, 84 persons (41M and 43F) from general population and two personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.

According to a press note issued by Government of Manipur COVID-19 Common Control Room, those who were confirmed positive were tested at JNIMS (28), RIMS (2), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (1), RD Wing (2), Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (12), SWISS (2), Sabina Diagnostics (11), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (12), Senapati (2), Chandel (I) and Churachandpur (7).

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal East (30), Imphal West (17), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (14), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (9) and Chandel (2). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last 24 hours, one person aged 56 years (male from Imphal East passed away at RIMS. The cumulative number of deaths as on Thursday was 381.

The total number of discharged persons is 25. They am from Home Isolation (19), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and SHRI (2).  The cumulative number of positive cases is 30,047 (General Population — 26,555 and Central Security Personnel — 3,492). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,153 (General Population — 25,711 and Central Security Personnel — 3,442). The number of active cases is 513 (General Population — 467 and Central Security Personnel — 46). The recovery rate is 97.02 %.

As per the latest information, the total number of persons vaccinated so far is 118215. All persons above the age of 45 are advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, DISTRICT HOSPITALS, CRCs, PHCs and select private hospitals, said the release issued by Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur.
