COVID-19 active cases in Manipur surged to 385 on Tuesday with 94 fresh cases reported on Tuesday —, a 30 per cent increase from Monday.
With one death reported in the last 24 hours, the total fatality reached 378, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The deceased person was a non-Manipuri who hospitalised at Thoubal District Hospital and was found to be COVID-19 positive. He died late Monday evening. An metal scrap collector for recycling, he used to live near Thoubal Melaground. The 29 year old was a native of West Bengal and arrived in Imphal from Kolkata in an Air India flight on April 15, according to AIR News Imphal.
Of the 94 new cases on Tuesday, 44 were from Imphal West, 14 from Senapati, 13 from Imphal East, nine from Bishnupur, four from Churachandpur, three from Thoubal, two each from Tengnoupal and Tamenglong, and one from Ukhrul.
The caseload of the state stands at 29,869. As per the latest information, 1,10,614 individuals have been vaccinated in the state so far.
Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the state on April 17 by – Indigo flight 6E-2615 in rows 3-11; AirAsia flight 15-783 in rows 3-11 and 22-28; Air India Flight Al-889 in rows 7-13, have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of Covid-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020, has been amended and penalties for violations of the guidelines and restrictions issued by the Manipur State Disaster Management Authority and the state government in connection with COVID-19 pandemic.
Special Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur, H Gyan Prakash has issued Manipur Gazette notification in this regard.
