There seems to be no sight of flattening the curve as Manipur on Wednesday reported 397 fresh cases and 10 deaths.
The number of active cases in the state has now surged to 2,657 (General Population – 2523 and Central Security Personnel – 134). As per the latest update by the IDSP Manipur, the number of active cases on home isolation stands at 1,818.
In the past twenty-four hours, 377 persons (192 male, 185 female) from the general population and 20 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases, according to the Health Department.
Imphal West (187) and Imphal East (69) continue to report the majority of fresh cases. The other positive cases from the general population are from Kakching (28), Kangpokpi (17), Senapati (15), Churachandpur (13), Bishnupur (12), Tamenglong (11), Ukhrul (11), Thoubal (10), Chandel (2), and Jiribam (2).
In the last 24 hours, 10 persons aged 72 yrs (male, Imphal West), 56 yrs (male, Imphal West), 72 yrs male, Imphal West), 42 yrs (female, Imphal West), 70 yrs (male, Imphal East), 67 yrs (female, Imphal East), 75 yrs (female, Imphal East), 78 yrs (male, Kangpokpi), 60 yrs (female, Kangpokpi), and a 48 yrs (female, Churachandpur), expired at Shija Hospital (2), Bal Bhavan (3), District Hospital Kangpokpi (1), District Hospital Churachandpur (1), RIMS (2), and JNIMS (1) hospital respectively. The cumulative number of deaths has now reached 434.
A total of 121 patients — CAPF (1), Home Isolation (106), RIMS (6), and SHRI (8), were discharged in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 33,353 (General Population -29,747 and Central Security Personnel – 3,606). The recovery rate has now declined to 90.73 %.
According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 821 D type Oxygen cylinders and 323 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
Air passengers who travelled to the state onMay 3 by Air India flight AI-3713 in rows 12 18 have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
Meanwhile, India reported 3.82 lakhs new COVID-19 cases and 3,780 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.
While 3.38 lakhs patients were discharged, the active cases now stand at 34.87 lakhs. The total caseload of the country has now reached 2.07 crore and 2.27 lakhs total deaths.
