KCP (PWG) vows to take action against corruption

The outfit said that many actions of government officials including their effort to “befool the people” will not be spared.

The proscribed KCP (PWG) has reiterated its commitment to uproot corruption in Manipur through different befitting measures.

In a press statement issued by KCP (PWG) on December 20, its secretary, Central Media Coordinator Lenin Meitei stated that the proscribed organisation is based on “Marxist Doctrine”, it has been continuing the effort to fight corruption and expose the high officials and coteries since a very long time. The outfit said that many actions of government officials including their effort to “befool the people” will not be spared.

As an instance, KCP (PWG) said that it has “indefinitely banned” the Imphal Urban Cooperative Bank. It has accused the officials of the bank, in connivance with persons impersonating as farmers, were siphoning off funds for their own selfish. The outfit has asked the accused bank officials to approach the party and accept their mistakes.

Moreover, KCP (PWG) said that “Many bureaucrats have been involved in befooling the people, particularly the famers by extracting funds meant for different schemes meant for the poor. Pointing out that the outfit has enough evidence to prove the wrong-doings, it also claimed that the officials of the Minor Irrigation Department has collected huge amount of money in the name of providing help to the “armed revolutionary groups” in connection with the current crisis in Manipur.

KCP (PWG) demanded the department to publicly state who the recipients of the money are. It also said that the Chief Engineer and the Executive Engineer of the Minor Irrigation Department has been banned from attending office in connection with the same issue.

KPC (PWG) KPC (PWG) also claimed that it received complaints from the public on money-for-job practice by MSPCL. The outfit claimed that officials of the MSPCL and event “the concerned minister”.
