No matter your age, one can always start learning musical instruments. But, there is no denying children with musical talent is exceptionally heartwarming.

The 7 natural notes on a guitar are A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Whereas in Ukulele, the most important basic Ukulele chord are C chord, D chord, G chord, and Em chord. These set you up to play a ton of songs.

Strumming their Ukulele, around 30 students of Pam’s Kindergarten performing famous Tangkhul song “Manganuishon” originally written and performed by fame Tangkhul artist Thangmeiso Shinglai for his upcoming documentary film, has caught the attention of the netizen. Their performance was widely shared in the social media, and ever since, they have been receiving good reviews.

Students at Pam’s Kindergarten are being taught ukulele, guitar, piano and drum. At just six-seven years old or even younger, the children are having the time of their life playing ukuleles, guitars and pianos.

Supervisor of Pam’s Kindergarten, RVS. Pamshon stated that “singing and playing music is important because it builds self-confidence, promotes self-esteem and and enables young people of different ages and different abilities to come together successfully to create something special. A teacher by profession with more than 25 years of teaching experience, RVS Pamshon stated that ” the introduction of music class is beneficial for the students. It improves their memory, their creativity, team work, discipline and sharpens their concentration. Music class has helps the students in reading, memory retention and pronounciation. The children are hard-working and very obedient. We have chapel service on every Wednesday. Apart from music, the children are also into choreography and fine arts.”

Established in 2010, Pam’s Kindergarten at Wino Bazaar (West), Ukhrul is just a few minutes walk from the main road. There are around 110 students with 9 teaching staffs.

Khanthing Shimray, who is in-charge of music shared that he was “grateful for this beautiful platform. It is such a joy to see the students spending more time on music at home and not on mobile phone. It involves a lot of patience. After class, we are all exhausted. But at the end it is worth the challenge. To explore, mould and shape the talents of the young minds and give a platform to showcase their talent is on my mind.”

The institution has also roped in music teachers for piano and drum. They plan to organise a musical concert this year.

When it comes to Christmas Carol Competition at Ukhrul Headquarters, the musical group of Pam’s Kindergarten has been always a name to reckon with. They were the winner of 5th Christmas Carol Competition organised by Ikra Kidz and have received many other such accolades.
