An inspiring gesture from Kangpokpi businessman motivated Thadou Students’ Association Sadar Hills in its good samaritan service upon COVID patients and on-duty medical staff including doctors and nurses at COVID Care Centre Leikop.

TSA Sadar Hills has been voluntarily taking responsibility for mess catering to any COVID patients admitted at CCC Leikop before one month and later on-duty medical staffs including doctors and nurses also depended on the mess provided by the TSA Sadar Hills.

However, TSA Sadar Hills, running the mess catering service out of sheer love and without seeking any donation from others, often faced shortage of rice in their stock.

Ganga Sharma, a businessman from Kangpokpi, who is also an alumnus of KT Higher Secondary School Kangpokpi 1997 Class X batch while knowing the condition of TSA Sadar Hills come forward to help them continue to feed the COVID patients and doctors and nurses at CCC Leikop by donating rice, dal, potatoes, oil, water and other requirements at the kitchen of TSA Sadar Hills.

It was not Ganga’s donation but his praiseworthy gesture that made everyone motivated.

The businessman while handing over the essential items said that at this critical juncture of the pandemic health crisis everyone is badly affected in one way or another, so, the government is trying hard to ensure the safety of all by giving maximum efforts enduring sleepless nights.

He continued that when the government is doing its part at its best level, the other front-line workers including the health workers and police, and most importantly the various non-profit organisations are also contributing a lot in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19.

“We cannot solely depend upon the government and other public-spirited organisations throughout the pandemic; rather we must also participate as human beings for the cause of humanity at this juncture for collective efforts and participation is the need of the hour to overcome the pandemic COVID-19,” he added.

He pointed out that the exposure of the frontline workers, health workers, police, and voluntary organisations is our safety while their exhaustive days have become our opportunity to spend quality time with our family and their death become our life.

“Taking into account all these sacrifices and commitment of our government, frontline workers, health workers, police, and the dedicated non-profit organisations, we should not remain just mute spectators but we must not hesitate to step forward to help them in our capacity,” he added.

He also assured that this will not be the last but he will promote the good samaritan act of TSA Sadar Hills to his friend circle and come forward with bigger assistance and contribution for the COVID patients and the COVID warriors, the doctors, and nurses at CCC Leikop.

Ganga Sharma also encouraged the TSA Sadar Hills volunteers to keep up the good samaritan work and never make the COVID patients and doctors and nurses at CCC Leikop sleep hungry while assuring more assistance in his capacity in the future as well.

“When God gives me, I don’t have any reason to be selfish and I would not hesitate to give to the people”, asserted the businessman.

Ganga Sharma also thanked and appreciated the sacrifice and commitment of Hechong Hangshing who volunteered herself to cook for the COVID patients and the doctors and nurses on-duty at CCC Leikop since TSA Sadar Hills started the mess catering service free of cost.

Meanwhile, TSA Sadar Hills and TWA Sadar Hills expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ganga Sharma for his noble and rare gesture towards humanity while appreciating his contribution towards the efforts of TSA Sadar Hills.
