Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) condoles the demise of former vice president of Federation of Regional Indigenous Society (FRIENDS), Tensubam Sarat Meitei of Nambol Laitonjam Makha Leikai who succumbed to COVID-19.
In a release, IPAK said that Sarat Meitei worked towards saving the indigenous people of the state and took an important role in the demand for Inner Line Permit System in the state.
When IPAK was known as FRIENDS, Sarat Meitei worked tirelessly for the people and is still remembered today, it said. Stating that an unfillable void has been left, IPAK also joined the family in their grief.
