Expressing concern over mushrooming “factions” in the state, Gen (retd) MB Neokpao Konyak said that it is a matter of “shame” for the Nagas that brings “happiness” to the Indian government

Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (WC NNPGs) led by Gen (retd) MB Neokpao Konyak, President of GPRN/NSCN (Unification) held its installation ceremony at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur, on Saturday (February 8).
Addressing the “national workers”, at the installation ceremony of ranks and files drawn from different political groups, MB Neokpao Konyak, reminded the Nagas that as he being involved in the Naga political movement since more than last five decades. Expressing concern over mushrooming “factions” in the state, he said that it is a matter of “shame” for the Nagas that brings “happiness” to the Indian government.
The installation ceremony was held in the presence of leaders and members of different Naga political groups and representatives of civil society (s), NSF, and the DNSU.
Expressing happiness on being entrusted with the responsibility of the convener of the working committee, NNPGs, he vowed to move forward unitedly. He appealed to the civil society organizations, students’ bodies and the Nagas to remember the national workers in their prayers.
Konyak also asserted that “they” would be able to overcome their shortcomings and succeed in their objectives apparently referring to the two divisions among the NNPGs at the same time stressed on the importance to retrospect where the leaders have gone wrong in order to take corrective measures in the near future.
He furthered that the Nagas are at a “crossroads” and that the people have to work hard and believe in themselves, coming together to resolve the vexed Naga political issue at the earliest.
Extending gratitude, NSCN/GPRN (R) president, Y Wangtin Naga, said that as one of the leaders of the NNPGs, the importance of understanding the “agreed position” signed between the government of India should be acknowledged.
Meanwhile, he also expressed dismay that the NNPGs were split into two.
