With the strong backing of all the stakeholders, we unitedly fought the war against COVID-19 and today we can proudly say that we have managed to contain the spread of COVID-19 through discipline and cooperation. There could have been more fatalities or cases had not the two MLAs taken extreme initiative and pro-active involvement in tackling the ground situation. There should not be any apprehension, since it has been tested and tried.”

After getting inoculated, Dr Kapangring A Shimray stated that COVID-19 vaccination is safe. “On January 8, 2021, we conducted the rehearsal. The first round will begin today and after a 28 days gap, the second round will be administered with the same dose of Covishield again. 100 medical workers were listed for vaccination today. Covishield has passed the third phase of human test. It has to be administered to 18 years above, no pregnant women or lactating mothers should be vaccinated,” he added.
