Manipur on Sunday reported 823 new cases and nine deaths. The number of total infections of the state has now reached 55,230.

The daily positivity rate stayed below 10 per cent at 9.38 per cent. Active cases in the state now stand at 9,184. Out of these, 4,608 active cases are in home isolation.

The positive cases from the general population are — 245 from Imphal West, 192 from Imphal East, 86 from Thoubal, 71 from Churachandpur, 69 from Kakching, 56 from Jiribam, 49 from Bishnupur, 14 from Tengnoupal, 12 from Ukhrul, nine from Kamjong, seven from Kangpokpi, six from Chandel, three from Tamenglong, and one each from Noney and Senapati.

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Sunday, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported nine COVID-19 deaths. Four individuals from Imphal East, three from Imphal West and one each from Kakching and Kangpokpi died at RIMS (1), JNIMS (5) and Raj Medicity (3). The cumulative number of deaths has reached 881.

On Sunday, 646 persons were discharged, out of which 478 are from home isolation, 12 are from RIMS (9) and JNIMS (3) and the rest 156 are from other COVID care facilities. The recovery rate is 81.77 %.

Oxygen Status

According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1863 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 549 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
