Hundreds of Naga People’s Front (NPF) leaders and workers attended a Political Consultative Meeting held on Friday at Ukhrul Headquarters.
The political consultative meeting of 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency area unit of NPF was being held to further prepare NPF for the forthcoming Manipur State Legislative Assembly General Election 2022.
President of NPF Ukhrul Division, Wunganoshang A Shimray hoisted the NPF flag. Former ADCs of Ukhrul, Khayinghor Valui, Kapangpam Zimik, Paothing Vashum and Vice President of NPF Ukhrul Division delivered short speeches.
MLA Khashim Vashum while thanking the workers appealed the gathering to continue extending their support in the coming election. He also reiterated that he will continue to work for the cause and welfare of Naga people.
It is worth mentioning that Khashim Vashum was elected as MLA of 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency in 2017 by a thumping majority. He received 16,582 votes, securing 51.70% of the total vote casted in 2017.
Supporters of NPF have reposed their faith in the incumbent MLA. A supporter of Khashim Vashum while interacting with this correspondent stated that “the incumbent MLA has done exceptionally well in the COVID-19 pandemic besides looking into the matter of education system and drinking water facilities and others. Moreover, our representatives along with tribal MLAs have raised the core issues for the wellbeing of tribals especially the proposed ADC Bill 2021. We are indeed pleased to have such a representative and we will continue extending our support for those candidates who will work for the welfare and upliftment of the tribal people.”
In unison, the leaders and workers of 51 units of NPF of 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency who attended the meeting reaffirmed to support Khashim Vashum, the incumbent MLA for the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022.
