CBIC Team Visits ICP MOREH, Takes Stock of Situation

A team of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) officials led by Sanjay Kumar Agarwal Member Compliance Management, CBIC Govt of India visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Moreh on Tuesday and met stakeholders.

Manager of ICP Moreh T Baite received the visiting team by presenting a traditional shawl to Sanjay Kumar Agarwal. During the meeting, the ICP staff highlighted the concept, functions, and roles of the ICP regarding the India-Myanmar Border Trade.

SP Custom Preventive force SK Gangte and SP LCS Moreh Alimuddin Shah took part in the meeting.

Various issues and the impact of the current political impasse in Myanmar on border trade and the suspension of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) were discussed at length.

Later the team visited the office of the Customs Preventive Force Moreh. The staff of the CPF-Moreh presented shawls to the Ministry Officials. The team also visited Indo-Myanmar Border Gate No.1 & 2 and took stock of the situation. The team was briefed by the CPF officials Moreh.

The team comprised Commissioner customs Abhitasha Mahapatra, Commissioner (Investigation) Delhi Harish, Joint Commissioner Custom Thomas Basumatary, Addl Director DRI GP Gangmei, and Commissioner Custom Division Imphal Keerthisri S.
