Transport and Admission In-Charge of Imphal West, Dr N Haraba on Wednesday has written to the Medical Superintendents of RIMS, JNIMS, RAJ, SHRI, AOI Babina (Through State Covid Admission Committee) to admit Ratan Thiyam in either of the hospital for further treatment and observation.
A playwright and theatre director and winner of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1987, Ratan Thiyam is one of leading figures of the “theatre of roots” movement in Indian theatre, which started in the 1970s. He is known for writing and staging plays that use ancient Indian theatre traditions and forms in a contemporary context.
