A rifleman of the 7th Manipur Rifles was critical and shifted to a private hospital after he was shot by another rifleman on Friday morning. Both are presently deployed as security of BJP Manipur unit president A Sharda Devi.
The incident occured at the residence of A Sharda Devi at Brahmapur Aribam Leikai Adhikarimayum Leirak, Imphal East at around 10:00 am. The injured rifleman was rushed to JNIMS and later shifted to Raj Medicity. The condition is said to be serious.
The injured rifleman has been identified as A Bimolchand Sharma of Naharup, of 7th MR. The alleged culprit who shot him has been identified as Thonginthang Baite of Litan, of 7th MR.
A team of Imphal East District police rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Thonginthang Baite has been picked up by the police. Attachments area
