BJP manifesto for Manipur Assembly Election 2022 promises free scooty, laptop, AIIMS, two LPG cylinders apart from introducing the of FO-FO train

BJP Manipur Pradesh says that it is “strongly committed to protecting the territorial integrity and preserve the rights of the Indigenous people of Manipur and its rich cultural heritage.”
Releasing the party’s manifesto for the Manipur assembly election 2022 on Thursday, the BJP has promised a number of freebies to woo voters in Manipur ahead of the two-phase poll scheduled for February 28 and March 5.
The party manifesto says that if BJP comes to power, it will give two free LPG cylinders annually to all the PM Ujjwala beneficiaries of the state besides providing free “scooty” to all meritorious college going girls of the state.
The party manifesto said that girls from economically weaker and backward sections will be provided with an incentive of Rs 25,000 under the Rani Gaidinliu Nupi Maheiroi Singi Scheme. Free laptops will be distributed to all the meritorious students passing class 12th to support their higher education, said the BJP manifesto.
The BJP also promised that the monthly pension for all the senior citizens in the state will be increased from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 and financial assistance of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will be increased for all the farmers from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per year while free of cost accidental insurance cover of upto Rs 5 Lakh will be provided to all fishermen in state.
Scholarships will be given to the children of small and marginal farmers and landless farmers pursuing technical education at the graduation and post-graduation level while establishing Manipur Skill University for skilling the youth of Manipur in various sectors, said the manifesto.
The party also promised to establish AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) in Manipur to further advance the standard of healthcare services in the state. It will provide 100% coverage of Ayushman Bharat and CMHT (Chief Ministergi Hakchelgi Tenbang) scheme to provide health insurance of Rs 5 Lakh to all the eligible beneficiaries.
If it comes to power, the BJP also said it will expand people’s centric initiatives like “Go To Village and Go To Hills” while introducing doorstep delivery of all Central and State government schemes.
The party also intends to Introduce Aspirational Block Programme with special focus on overall development in selected blocks of the state along with One Sub Division One Product scheme to promote indigenous produce and boost local economy.
The BJP promised to provide interest-free loans to MSMEs for technology up-gradation, capital requirements and to enable better market access apart from establishing Rs 100 crore Start-Up Manipur Fund to provide zero-interest loans of up to Rs 25 Lakh.
Another promise made by the party is the introduction of FO-FO train (Follow Foothills train), a peripheral rail network along the foothills of the state to boost tourism and increase allied vocational opportunities in the state.
To promote local tourism, cash incentives and subsidies for the homestay owners will be provided, aiming to generate around 1 Lakh employment opportunities in the state, said the party while adding that Loktak Mega Eco-tourism project will be undertaken to promote tourism in the state.
The manifesto was released by BJP national president JP Nadda.
