Somsai Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (S) foiled liquor smuggling from Somra in General Area of Tusom , Ukhrul District on June 15 2022.
The Assam Rifles troops intercepted 1 Bolero pick up with illegal Myanmar liquor in general area of Tusom, Ukhrul District, with approximate amount of Rs 4.38 lacs. The seized items are:
1. Yoma – 7 case
2. Diablo – 16 case
3. Dagon – 98 case.
The seized liquor along with apprehended smugglers and vehicles were handed over to Jessami Police Station, Ukhrul for further legal action.
According to information made available to this correspondent by Jessami Police, the arrested persons has been identified as Ninglum Horam (37 years) s/o Vaorei Horam of Tusom CV, Rainset L Rui (35 years) s/o Yapoh and Sonup Rana Poh (35 years) s/o Homeset. Tusom CV is situated near Indo-Myanmar border sharing international border pillar No 128 and 129.
