Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) on Tuesday held a peaceful protest in front of the Government Middle School (GMS), Midland, Dimapur, Nagaland, protesting against the illegal occupation classrooms by the health centre.
The students displayed placards reading “We are the Change, We are the Future”, and “No More Delay, No More Excuses”. They staged the protest in a democratic way so that their voices against the illegal occupation of their classrooms by a health centre under the Department of Health and Family Welfare were heard
As per DNSU, the protest demonstration was attended by its members, constituent units, and students who all stood in solidarity against the unauthorized “encroachment”.
During the protest, the DNSU submitted an ultimatum to the concerned department demanding clearance of the said school premises within seven days. If the department fails to comply, the DNSU would be compelled to take stronger measures in order to ensure that the rights of students’ community and their integrity of the school are upheld, it said.
