On April 23, CMO of Kamjong engaged 12 staff nurses and 12 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and CMO of Ukhrul also engaged one medical officer, 12 staff nurses and 12 MTS.

Re-engagement of contractual staff for COVID-related duties of Kamjong and Ukhrul districts are yet to get their remuneration since their re-engagement on April 23, 2021.
Deputy Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur had issued notification on April 19, 2021 for re-engagement of contractual staff for Covid-related duties for a period of six months. Accordingly, on April 23, 2021, the CMO of Kamjong had engaged 12 Staff Nurses and 12 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and CMO of Ukhrul had also engaged one medical officer with a remuneration of Rs 2,500 per day per head, 12 staff nurses with a remuneration of Rs. 1,000 per day per head and 12 Multi-Tasking Staff with a remuneration of Rs 500 per day per head.
It has been three months since their re-engagement. However, they are yet to get their remuneration till date. Speaking to this correspondent on the condition of anonymity, one contractual staff said that they are facing hardship because of the non-payment of their remuneration.
Engagement of contractual staff earlier by CMOs in the districts for Covid-related duties were terminated as conveyed vide letter of even number dated January 29, 2021 and a fresh notification was issued on April 19, 2021 for re-engagement for a period of 6 months with immediate effect by Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur.
On 12 July, 2021, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur had accord Administrative Approval and Expenditure Sanction amounting to Rs. 2,30,17,000/- only being remunerations for contractual medical officers, staff nurses and MTSs for the month of January and February 2021. For this the CMO of Kamjong received Rs. 2,88,000/- and CMO Ukhrul received Rs. 5,74,000/-.
