Imphal West police seized a large quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from two different persons from Thangmeiband area on Wednesday.
At around 5:30 pm on Wednesday, a team of CDO-IW picked up one person from his residence namely Koijam Joybishnu Singh (42) D/o (L) K Ibohal Singh of Thangmeiband Maisnam Leikai. Several bottles of IMFL were recovered from his residence.
It included — Teacher’s Highland 750ml (16 bottles), OC blue 750ml (12 bottles), 100 Pipers 750ml (2 bottles), Blenders Pride 750ml (30 bottles), Black Dog 750ml (3 bottles), and Mcdowells 750ml (2 bottles).
On the other hand, a team of Imphal West district police led by SDPO Lamphel, Thomas Thokchom under the supervision of SP IW, S Ibomcha Singh seized a huge cache of liquor (2438 bottles) from People’s store at Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai.
The shop belongs to one Salam Sancha (27) S/o Santosh Salam of Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai.
The seized IMFL included — 100 piper (6 bottles), Sterling reserve (full, 12 bottles), Sterling reserve (quarter, 144 bottles), Kingfisher beer (168 bottles), Kingfisher beer (456 Can), OC blue (full, 48 bottles), OC blue (half, 168 bottles), OC blue (quarter, 96 bottles), Old monk (full, 12 bottles), Old monk (quarter, 216 bottles), Smirnoff (full, 12 bottles), Romanov (quarter, 72 bottles), Tuborg beer (192 Can), Nutcracker beer (264 Can), Royal Stag (half, 48 bottles), Royal stag (quarter, 48 bottles), McDowell (quarter, 432 bottles), and DIC (half, 44 bottles).

Meanwhile, based on reliable information, a team of Singjamei PS conducted search at Ibudou Pharmacy at Thongju Part II, Pechu Lampak owned by one Phandom Noteshor Singh (53) S/o (L) Ph Bokul Singh of Thongju Part II, Pechu Lampak, at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday.
The team seized 39 bottles of illegal Codeine syrup from his custody inside the pharmacy. The owner was arrested at the spot and seized the Codeine syrup bottles by observing necessary formalities for further legal course of action.
