Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (Tangkhul Youth Council) has highlighted several shortcomings of healthcare equipment and staff in Ukhrul District Hospital in a letter to the chief minister of Manipur.
The council maintained that without the machinery and personnel, District Hospital Ukhrul would be inadequate to deliver optimum healthcare to the people of the district.
The council said that the district hospital urgently requires — Arterial Blood Gas(ABG) Analyzer, D-Dimmer, C-Reactive Protein Analyzer, and a Blood Bank. It also requires personnel upgrades of an X-Ray Technician and staff nurses.
In the letter to CM Biren, the council also lauded the chief minister for all the hard work that has been put into the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that has been sweeping every nook and corner of the state.
“We would particularly like to thank you for all the material and personnel upgrades that had been undertaken by your esteemed self for better functioning of the medical infrastructure of the District. It has proven to be of utmost help to the people of the district,” it added.
