60-Singhat AC’s KPA candidate Chinlunthang has lodged a police complaint with Singngat Police Station, Churachandpur against nine cadres of ZRA/ZRO, which is under suspension of Operation agreement with the India government.
In his complaint, Chinlunthang alleged that ZRA/ZRO Cadres –Thangkhansum @ T.K Zomi, Donian Simte @ Chinlianlal, Pauzagin @ Gigin @ Wamchai and Thangminium @ Sam and other five cadres— waylaid five of his supporters at around 3:45 pm on 2nd March 2022. They took them to their designated camp and brutally assaulted and tortured them for thwarting the attempt of the ZRA to capture Suangphu Polling Station on 28th February 2022, he added.
“The names of those who are assaulted are 1). Mr Mangsuankhup (21) s/o Manglamkap 2). Manglamkap (40) s/o L. Thangzasuan 3). Pauminthang (34) s/o L. Thangzasuan 4) Kaplunlal (21) so Chinsuanmang 5). Thangkhankhup (37) s/o Langzaneng all of them are from Suangphu village, Singngat Sub-division, Churachandpur, Manipur,” said the complaint.
These victims were kicked repeatedly, hit with AK-47 Rifle butt, and beaten black and blue with lathi at gun point after they were blindfolded with hands tied behind back with rope, it said. After the torture, they were thrown out of the gate of the Teikot ZRO/ZRA designated camp, it added.
The main reason for their assault was they had sided with the KPA candidate of the 60-Singhat AC, he claimed.
Stating that the victims were warned and also forcibly made to sign on a paper by the ZRO/ZRA cadres not to report the matters to any authorities or else they will be shot dead, Chinlunthang requested the police to register a FIR case and arrest accused ZRO/ZRA cadres mentioned in the complaint.
