Two covid positive term pregnancy women successfully delivered babies at Ukhrul District Hospital on Friday.
According to information made available by Medical Superintendent of Ukhrul District Hospital Dr. Reisangmi Raikhan, the two COVID positive term pregnancy women delivered healthy babies at the COVID Maternity & Labour Room led by Dr Yaruiyam Mahongnao and Dr Michael Kodah assisted by staff nurse Tharshem Lungleng and Wonshangla Jajo
Dr Reisangmi Raikhan added “despite all odds we are doing our best to give the best service and the facilities for even such patients (COVID positive) in Ukhrul District Hospital.”
It is worth mentioning that there is no facility in Ukhrul for delivery of COVID positive pregnancy. “We have created this facility to deal with such cases in Ukhrul District” stated Dr Reisangmi Raikhan.
Dr Resiangmi further said that “Ngalawon Luikham, 27 years from Ukhrul with primigravida at term pregnancy with Covid positive delivered a healthy male baby at 1.18 pm of 3.5 kgs by vacuum assisted VD with RMLE. Ramyophy, 26 years from Tusom CV with G2P1001 at term pregnancy with Covid positive delivered a healthy female baby at 3:19 pm by NVD.”
It is learnt that the two were referred from private hospitals at Ukhrul.
