Tamenglong DC Armstrong Pame congratulated and expressed gratitude to the medical team who fought the pandemic COVID-19 and brought survival to many people.

Tamenglong Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Chambo Gonmei received the first COVID-19 vaccine (Covishield) in the district on Saturday. The vaccination drive was conducted at Tamenglong District hospital, Duigailong.
After receiving the vaccine Dr Chambo Gonmei stated, “I am okay. I feel good and don’t have any problem and I appeal the people to get vaccinated so that we may stay safe and healthy”.
According to a release, the district immunization officer Dr Sunil Kamei and Noney District CMO Dr Gracy were second and third respectively to get COVID 19 vaccination from Tamenglong and Noney district.
Tamenglong DC Armstrong Pame attended as chief guest in the launching programme of COVID-19 vaccination drives. Tamenglong Superintendent of police Mohurle Sandip Gopaldas and Tamenglong CMO Dr Chambo Gonmei attended as guest of honour and president of the function, respectively.
The launching programme was successfully held in the presence of World Health Organisation (WHO) consultant Dr Rajendra Kumar Singh, Tamenglong sub-divisional officer Mahesh Chawdhuri, Tamenglong ADM Kajaigai Gangmei, amongst others, it added.
In his speech, Armstrong Pame congratulated and expressed gratitude to the medical team who fought the pandemic COVID-19 and brought survival to many people. Sandip Gopaldas and Dr Chambo Gonmei also spoke on the occasion.
The district health society Tamenglong has identified 1138 beneficiaries for the first phase where at least 100 beneficiaries will get COVID-19 vaccination, it added.
Before the launching programme participants watched the launching programme of Prime Minister of India and chief minister of Manipur live.
