In a landmark development for aviation training in Northeast India, the 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC in Imphal on Wednesday inaugurated a cutting-edge Microlight SW-80 Virus aircraft simulator on Wednesday, marking a significant upgrade to the region’s aviation training infrastructure.

The advanced simulator, developed and installed by Bangalore-based Aer X Simulator Labs, has been set up at the DM College campus, which houses the Air Wing NCC unit. This pioneering initiative, the first of its kind in Manipur under the aegis of Headquarters Directorate General NCC (DGNCC), represents a major leap forward in providing realistic flight training to NCC cadets in the region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a host of prominent officials, underscoring the significance of the event for the state’s educational and aviation sectors. Key dignitaries included: N Prabin Singh, Secretary of Education, Government of Manipur; M Rajkumar, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West; Ksh Sashikanta Singh, Superintendent of Police, Imphal West; Ng Bhogendra Singh, Director of Education, Government of Manipur; Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East; Shyam Kamei, Deputy DGM, Imphal International Airport.

Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort between the NCC, state government, and aviation experts to bring advanced training facilities to Manipur.
