NSCN/GPRN (K) president Nikki Sumi (Retd General) on Monday said that the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) took a wrong approach by initiating the “shutter down” and finger-pointing at the NPGs for any form of misconduct.
Stating that the “issue” is within the government of India (GoI), and the NPGs, the NSCN (K) president asked the DCCI to refrain from involving in the matter as the state government is not in a position to entertain any feedback.
Nikki said the very issue is “national issue” where talks have been going on with the government of India. He questioned the DCCI whether they are above the principles of the Nagas or the government of India.
On the say that almost 24 factions are operating in Nagaland, Nikki Sumi has put forward a clarification that there are only “3 recognized groups” including the NSCN (IM) with whom the GoI has already packed the “Framework Agreement” while “Agreed position” has been signed with the NNPGs, and the third being his group which is also recognized.
He later shared that the government of India (GoI) has asked for the “Charter of Demands” from his group NSCN-K (Nikki) but he was not given the opportunity till date.
On a query with regard to the imposition of taxes in the state singularly by the NPGs alone or are being “taxed” by other agencies, Nikki Sumi spelled out that all departments are not involved in taxation but only “related departments” are involved and citing that only the “administration” is clean.
Warning the union (s) and association (s) not to be involved in collecting “money”, the NSCN (K) president has also encouraged the Nagas to foray into business with an assurance that he would assist or help young Naga entrepreneurs in setting up their business.
