A day after allegations of “leaked questions” went viral on social media platforms, Manipur University on Monday cancelled the B.Ed. entrance examination held on Sunday.
The decision to quash the entrance examination to the Master’s programme was taken by the Deans’ Committee of Manipur University.
After an in-depth discussion, the committee identified some prima facie evidence of the question being leaked. It was unanimously resolved to cancel the B.Ed. entrance examination held on November 28, 2021 and conduct a fresh entrance examination within 15 days, stated a release by the registrar in-charge of the varsity.
The members of the committee considered the memorandum submitted by Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) and the reports in media regarding the allegation of leakage of question paper for the entrance test for admission to B.Ed, it added.
The committee also resolved to constitute a ‘One Man Fact Finding Committee’ to enquire into the matter, the findings of which has to be submitted within three weeks.
