Kuki Students’ Organization Ukhrul made a clarion call to one and all to desist from committing unwanted incidents as panic gripped Mongkot Chepu following an incident of gunshots by unknown miscreants on Sunday night.
The student body stated that villagers of Mongkot Chepu are now reeling under fear and tension after the unprecedented incident of gunshots that occurred on Sunday night at around 9:30 pm without any reason and rhymes creating unnecessary tension in the village.
While making a clarion call to one and all to desist from unwanted elements and actions which have the potential to spark off communal conflagration and fuel tensions in a multicultural community land such as Litan area, the Kuki Students Organisation Ukhrul District fervently appeal to those involved in the act not to repeat in the near future.
The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Ukhrul, since its inception is opposed to any subversive act detrimental to maintaining communal harmony and those which have the potential to create chaos and confusion in the district. As such KSO Ukhrul denounced the unwanted incident of gunshots at Mongkot Chepu, it added.
It also appealed to all right-thinking denizens of the area to condemn such incidents which are a threat to peace and development and urged the perpetrators involved in the incident to exercise a love and respect attitude and shun violence.
