In a shocking incident, a minor girl (6 years) was sexually assaulted on October 13 morning at a colony in Senapati town by a man identified as Rajen Pou, son of Pozii of Purul Rosiifii village under Senapati district Manipur.
The accused was arrested by Senapati women police station on Thursday under POCSO Act. According to police, the accused would be produced before the court on October 15.
According to the victim’s mother (as per the FIR), the incident happened on October 13 morning around 7 am. The mother said that her daughter went to her elder sister’s place to stay overnight on October 12 and the accused being an acquaintance visited her sister’s place. When the victim went to fetch water from the front yard while her aunt was cooking, the accused took the minor child inside the bedroom and committed the sexual offence against her daughter.
The victim’s mother mentioned that on hearing the loud cry of her minor daughter, her elder sister ran inside the room and found her daughter’s half pant was removed and the accused person embracing and fondling her minor daughter. When her elder sister shouted at the accused person he immediately fled the place.
The victim’s mother said that after this incident. her elder sister immediately informed her about the horrific incident. The mother lodged an FIR at women police station Senapati for necessary legal action against the accused in accordance with the prevention of child from sexual offence Act 2012.
