Questioning the government of India (GoI) where are they heading to by resorting to setting the Indian Security Force to go for “proxy war” against Naga Army of NSCN using the KNA (B), one of the Myanmar-based militant groups along with the People’s Defence Force (PDF), the NSCN (IM) on Thursday said that Manipur had witnessed a great deal of “sabre-rattling” between the Meiteis and the Kuki-Zo interspersed with “bloody killings” with both the communities having suffered heavy casualties.

MIP, NSCN/GPRN, in a press statement said that it has kept its “hands clean” to stay away from such conflagration that will not serve any political purpose when the going between the government of India and NSCN (IM) was all about political talks for political settlement through the negotiating table, however, the “vicious” NIA was spitting venom with bewildering allegations against the NSCN/GPRN for fuelling the Meitei-Kuki-Zo ethnic conflict by way of helping the Meitei revolutionary groups against the Kuki militants.

Saying that it is a matter of regret that the Assam Rifles and the Para-regiment were both openly standing out to collude with Kuki militant groups against NSCN creating a war-like scenario in the border areas of India and Myanmar, the MIP NSCN (IM) pointed out that no such war mongering situation was ever witness in recent history despite the area prone to infiltration by different militant groups.

“As usual, the KNA/KNA(B) is in denial mode trying to show different picture far from having any link with the ubiquitous AR and Para-troopers. Ground reality however speaks louder than anything else. Needless to say, KNA (B) is given unrestrained access to border crossing point to Myanmar and allow them to come out anytime, while others are strictly forbidden”, MIP NSCN (IM) said.

Stating that such is the deceitful role of the Indian Security Forces (ISF) magnifying the problem instead of finding the route to solution, NSCN (IM) felt that the Free Movement Regime (FMR) was scrapped by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to control the undesirable element crossing the border and mentioned that it was “ironic” that Kuki militants were found as “favourable elements” to wreck the presence of Naga Army in Myanmar.

“What the ground realities are as witnessed in the Indo-Myanmar border? Home Minister of India Amit Shah was bold enough to say that illegal immigrants from Myanmar created the Manipur situation that continues to burn. To stop this, he initiated the unthinkable to scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and fence the border. However, contrary to the government decision, the NIA along with AR and Para regiment are working hand in glove with the Kuki militant groups”, NSCN (IM) said.

These Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, and Para Regiment, facilitated the Kuki militants with free entry and exit, NSCN (IM) said that the villagers have seen truckloads of Kuki militants being dropped at the border by the Assam Rifles which accordingly there is a strong nexus between the Indian Security forces, KNA (B) and the PDF with all the scheming materials provided by the Indian security forces.

Also stating that they (Indian security forces) supplied combat materials to KNA (B) and Chin PDF including GI pipe for their bomb making factory at Phaiyang village, the NSCN (IM) has also alleged that the Indian security forces gave training to KNA (B) on how to make bombs and how to operate them through drones which “guarded” by the Indian security forces round the clock which it found their behaviour highly “despicable” and offensive.

Mentioning that “no doubt” the sincerity of the government of India (GoI) is not “highly questionable” but wicked and loathsome and it is an irony that the main target of the Indian security forces is the Naga Army which had never disturbed the Indian security forces while having their goodwill missions inside Myanmar.

There are more than 5000 Kuki refugees from Myanmar sheltered in Naga villages under Kasom and Kamjong blocks including Wanglee, Namlee, Kaka, Zingshophai Choro, Skip, Pilong, Sangalok and Phaikoh in Kamjong district, the NSCN (IM) said these refugee camps have gained notoriety for indulging in criminal activities polluting the socio-security environment and these “borderline activities” of these refugees were made easy as they colluded with AR to walk in and out of Myanmar with nefarious purpose (s).

The NSCN (IM) also went on to add that the people in the intelligence agency with criminal network that operate clandestinely which it understand that these refugees are all about fleeing for survival, their very presence has become a huge economic burden for the locals affecting their livelihood as these refugees have rummaged the greenery (wild plants) for food, giving tough competition to the locals and going the way above the “tolerance limit”, the villagers along the borderline are feeling unsecured going for hunting or fishing in the jungles because of the presence of “anti-social elements” that have penetrated from the other side of the border in the name of refugees.

To put on record, the combined forces of KNA (B) and PDF with Indian Security Forces managing the logistics have taken inimical stance against NSCN, deliberately targeting the Naga Army camps located in Naga areas in Myanmar, the NSCN (IM) mentioned that the KNA (B)/PDF waylaid “2nd Lieut.” Hante Ao of Naga Army on May 11, and was killed on May 13, this year after massive torture while another Naga Army officer “Lieut Col” Yaoreichan, posted at Choro village, Kamjong district, was also captured by KNA (B) and killed which it felt the incidents as “disgusting” for which the KNA(B) has been warned not to take sadistic pleasure in killing Naga Army.

Further on, it went to add that the NIA with its sinister-motive has only exacerbated the volatile situation by blaming the NSCN for the unrest in Manipur, and added that “they are simply adding fuel to the burning issue, determined to make the best use of the Kuki militants to settle score with NSCN.

Nevertheless, the NSCN (IM) says it finds no reason why NIA has to get so miserable and belligerent, ready to set the Indo-Myanmar border on fire against the Naga Army and for the record, Indian security forces are raining bombs using drones against the Naga Army camps in Myanmar, which has been going on for more than three weeks.

NSCN (IM) underscored also that what Indian security forces are doing against Naga Army is pure military brinkmanship, it looked all the “more bizarre” as it found the aggression of Indian security forces very hideous as drones attacks is nothing less than international aggression as the geographical location of Naga Army is beyond the jurisdiction of India.

Further, GOI shall be held responsible when NSCN (IM) is compelled to find answer to Indian aggression in the manner that dim fit in the Indo-Naga political talks remain inconclusive, it doesn’t give the right to India to resort to bombings using drones across international border. It is militarily and politically unnecessary, inherently immoral, a war crime and no less a form of state terrorism, the NSCN (IM) MIP press release mentioned.
