A three-member team led by the former interlocutor between the NSCN (IM) and the government of India, GoI, AK Mishra, who is here in the state, on Wednesday said that the “tripartite talks” also was and is part of the grievances faced by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) on the issue of the long demanded “Frontier Nagaland Territory” or the FNT.
Speaking to media persons after a marathon close-door meeting with the former interlocutor, ENPO president A Chingmak Chang said that various issues were discussed including unemployment opportunities faced within the people from the ENPO jurisdiction in the meeting.
In this regard, it was put forward with a request to the government of India (GoI) to facilitate or accommodate the unemployed youths from the Eastern areas for opportunities beyond while urging for modernization of the villages in the areas.
On the issue of a statement issued recently, Chang stated that the same press release was and is against the GoI protocol while highlighting that three autonomous inclusiveness including legislation, finance, and the executive were the main points being discussed.
Chingmak further went on to add that the demand of the ENPO is for separate statehood for which the government of India (GoI) has offered the FNT which accordingly is one of the options while hoping that the central government would be serious towards its commitment to bring an acceptable and honourable “solution” .
Apart from the key issues, it was hoped that in the next meet to be convened very soon.
Wednesday’s meeting was the second round of talks with the ENPO.
